Dr. George Barakos is currently a Lecturer in mining engineering at the Western Australia School of Mines of Curtin University.Prior to this role, he was a research associate at the Technical University Bergakademie Freiberg in Germany from 2017 to 2022.He obtained his Diploma in Mineral Resources Engineering in 2005 and Master of Science in Geoenvironmental Engineering in 2007 from the Technical University of Crete, in Greece. He then obtained his PhD in Mining Engineering from TU Bergakademie Freiberg, Germany, in 2017.Dr.Barakos has significant experience in academia and the mining industry, having worked as a consulting engineer in surface mining operations in Greece for several years.
Prof.Wolfgang Nachtmann – Geologist by education with some 40+ years of practical and operational experience in the oil and gas industry (focus areas: Central Europe, Texas, Ukraine, Georgia); teaching ‘petroleum exploration’ and ‘petroleum operations- and production geology’ at Montanuniversitaet in Leoben, Austria.

Francis F. Pavloudakis holds a Diploma (1992) and a Ph.D. (2001) of the Mineral Resources Engineering Department of The Technical University of Crete (Greece) and an MSc Degree (1995) in Environmental Engineering of The University of Newcastle upon Tyne (UK). He started his professional carrier as junior researcher from the Greek Institute of Solid Fuels Technology & Application (1996-2000). From 2000 and for 21 years he worked in the lignite mines of Public Power Corporation SA in Ptolemais basin, first as an environmental expert and then as head of the sector of mining studies of South Field Mine. In the same period, he worked also as part-time lecturer in several academic institutions. From December 2021 is Assistant Professor in the Department of Mineral Resources Engineering of The University of Western Macedonia.
Reservoir Engineer with a Master of Science degree in Reservoir Management and more than 7 years of working experience. Experienced with Numerical Simulation of Fluid Flow in Porous Media, Field Development Planning, Reservoir performance analysis, Reservoir/fluid petrophysics and IOR/EOR characterization.Bachelor Education- Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (Petroleum Engineering)Master Education- Clausthal University of Technology ( Reservoir Management)Post Graduate Program – The University of Texas Austin ( Data Science and Business Analytics)
In 2020 Bairam Akhundov graduated from Stockholm University’s Globalisation, Environment, and Social Change master’s programme and holds MSc in Human Geography. Currently, conducts trainings, writes articles for scientific journals, and participates in international events and conferences.
